Print2CAD 2017- 3D DWG to 3D PDF Conversion Requirements

3D DWG Input (B-Rep)

3D PDF Output as PRC

As a part of the process of transitioning its 3D technology, Adobe established  the ISO standardization process for the PRC data format used in 3D PDF specification.

Print2CAD 2017 (all Versions) supports only free ISO PRC formats (Product Representation Compact) for 3D PDF representation. Print2CAD 2017 do not support U3D or similar 3D formats. You can mix 2D and 3D elements in the same PDF.

The free Acrobat PDF Viewer views each PRC model in a separate internal viewer. If you have a lot of separate models in your CAD system, every model will receive its own PRC viewer. This is because the idea of 3D PDF is to use it for parts catalogs and not for a viewing of a whole construction.

3D PDF internal viewer  for PRC models is a real time viewer and the PRC model can not be very complicated.

PDF viewer for PRC models change only the position of a model and not the position of an observer - the observer looks all time from the same position vertical to PDF page (see Image of 3D PDF above). You can not see the PDF page and 2D elements from another view angle or perspective like in your CAD system.

We support only the B-Rep (Boundary Representation) of 3D models. We do not support any 3D line, 3D polyline or 3D net definitions.

You have to bind all single models in your drawing into a common model in your CAD system before you generate 3D PDF file using Print2CAD 2017
